Are you ready for a dessert that's so good, it should be illegal? Then get ready to indulge in the sinfully delicious goodness of a classic New York cheesecake. This recipe is a must-try for anyone who loves creamy, tangy desserts that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

But before we dive into the recipe, let's talk about why New York cheesecake is so amazing. Some say it's the dense, velvety texture that melts in your mouth with every bite. Others love the tangy flavour that hits your taste buds just right. And let's not forget about the crust—a buttery cracker base that adds just the right amount of crunch to the creamy filling.

Now, if you're anything like me, you're probably thinking, "But making the best New York cheesecake sounds hard." Fear not, my friends, because this recipe is surprisingly easy to make. All you need are a few simple ingredients and a little bit of patience because, let's face it, waiting for it to chill in the fridge is the hardest part.

So let's get started, shall we?

The ingredients you'll need:

BASE: Digestive biscuits: 100 g Brown Sugar: 40 g Butter: 70 g melted FILLING: Cream cheese: 500 g Sugar: 50 g Condensed milk: 100 g Fresh Cream: 150 g Cornflour: 8 g Vanilla Extract: 4 g The Zest of an Orange TOPPING: Whipping Cream: 70 g Strawberries

With the ingredients ready, it's time to start preparing the best New York cheesecake:

BASE: 1. Blitz the digestive biscuits in a mixer jar to form a powder. Transfer to a bowl and add the brown sugar, followed by the melted butter. 2. Mix it all together and press it into the bottom of an 18 cm (7-inch) cake ring. Press it tightly to ensure it doesn't break later. Set aside and prepare the filling.

FILLING: 1. Soften the cream cheese by whisking a bit or using an electric mixer. 2. Add in the sugar, condensed milk, fresh cream, zest of one orange, and vanilla extract. Sift the cornflour. 3. Mix until everything combines together and the cheesecake filling is smooth without any lumps. Do not over-mix. 4. Pour the ring over the biscuit base and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake at 150 °C for about 40–45 minutes in a hot water bath, until it browns on top. 5. Once baked, let it cool down and bring it to room temperature. Refrigerate overnight or for a minimum of 6–8 hours. 6. Unmold and place on the cake board. 7. Top with whipped cream and strawberries.

And there you have it, folks—a classic New York cheesecake that will make your taste buds dance with delight. Serve chilled and enjoy with a big ol' glass of milk (because, let's face it, this is one rich dessert).

So go ahead and indulge in the sinful goodness of this quirky and delicious dessert. Because life is too short to not enjoy a little cheesecake every now and then.
